Afrodyssée is an organization founded in 2015 in Geneva, Switzerland, whose mission is to highlight African excellence through three creative fields:

Projects
Afrodyssée’s flagship project is a biennial international event held in Geneva that brings together some thirty designers from the major capitals of the African continent. Over the course of three days, these designers showcase their creations; they are selected based on rigorous ethical and aesthetic criteria. This event is structured around five artistic components: an Exhibition showcasing the designers’ collections; Fashion Shows that bring them to life; Talks and Workshops that foster discussion and the sharing of knowledge and experiences; a Food Village to celebrate African cuisines; and Musical Performances and evening events to maintain a festive atmosphere throughout the event. Throughout the rest of the year, the Afrodyssée association organizes various activities aimed at promoting African cultures, such as roundtables, conferences, workshops, and artist residencies, to build a strong network and establish credibility in the sharing of knowledge.

Vision
Ultimately, Afrodyssée aims to become a must-attend event showcasing African aesthetics, intended for all lovers of creativity and design, as well as for members of the African diaspora in Europe. Afrodyssée is dedicated to promoting new African talent by serving as a bridge to recognition and fame beyond the continent.

Afrodyssée takes various criteria into account when selecting designers: the quality of working conditions, sustainability, gender equality, and the matriarchal and cultural heritage dimensions of the designs. These various aspects are carefully considered in the selection process. In selecting its staff members, the organization also seeks to prioritize high levels of skill and strong values, based on the principles of humility, rigor, respect, and kindness. Afrodyssée establishes rules and transparency processes to guide a volunteer program that is motivated above all by a common cause: promoting African excellence and passing on creative knowledge.
